Colmated Cork Stoppers

Colmated corks are the fourth class of natural corks, and are very porous. The corks are therefore filled in by the injection of cork grains and food grade adhesive to improve their physical properties and their visual aspect.


Characteristics:
  • Life time is between 1 or 4 years in the bottle depending on which category
  • Elasticity and impermeability. Bottles can be stored horizontally.
  • Same physical properties as natural cork stoppers for a lower price.
Quality Grades:
  1. A
  2. B
  3. C

Quality grades for colmated stoppers depend on the porous quality of the natural cork from which the stoppers are made.
