Manufacturing Process

Punching : Corks boards are boiled in large boilers before being punched.

After punching, corks are polished and cut to the ideal size.

Washing is a disinfecting operation (to eradicate microbes).

Sorting : grading is determined at the first pass of the grading machines. Final sorting is always done manually.

Branding : personalising corks either with burning or with ink.

Surface treatment : coating corks to easier botlling and extraction, improving protection against TCA and capillarity property.

Counting & Packaging : Corks are counted electronically and vacuum sealed in polyethylene bags with serum injection SO2.

Logistics: 5 or 6 polyethylene bags of 1000 corks (less if requested) each are put in a box.
